Job Description

Echo Valley Ranch & Spa is currently seeking an additional Wrangler & a Youth Program worker for the summer season of 2018.

EVR is located in the South Cariboo – Chilcotin region of Beautiful British Columbia, Canada with Mt. Bowman & the Marble Mountain range to our east, Grasslands to our west, The Cariboo Plateau to our North and the Fraser River Canyon to our south.

We host both Canadian and International guests through out our operating season starting in April and finishing Oct of 2018. We are currently on the look out to recruit 1 more Wrangler and a Outdoor Exponential Instructor for our Youth Program with horse experience for the summer months and into the fall.

EV Ranch is proud to boast about our extensive trail systems with 4 half day trails and 2 full day rides. Currently our herd of horses is 24 strong!

The ideal candidate will have Wrangling / Good horse sense / and a Strong western rider. Back country experience preferable as a guide with a sense of risk management and hazard anticipation when pairing horse and rider & when out on trail with guests of various riding abilities. Strong interpersonal skills with exceptional customer service able to take on leadership role when leading trail rides. A fun and positive demeanor is neccessary as we live, work and play in a remote area surrounded by Wilderness.

What we offer as compensation is as followed:

The compensation offered is $1800/month, plus full room and board, plus a proportionate share of the service charge (.. which is a function of the number of units worked per month and paid out in cash monthly).
The pay is based on six days/week. The accommodation is a room with ensuite bathroom and closet space. The room will be shared with one other staff member.
• Rate of Pay is paid semi-monthly, subject to normal payroll withholdings –EI, CPP, federal tax. ($150 per pay period will be added to your pay and deducted for Room & Board, this is a taxable benefit)
• Vacation pay will be accrued at a rate of 4% of your gross wages and will be paid at the end of your employment term.
• Transportation to the Ranch will be at your own cost.
