Glen Bernard Camp (GBC) is one of Ontario’s premier summer camps for girls and Outdoor Education Centres for co-ed school groups. Located 45km north of Huntsville and 6km west of Algonquin Park, GBC includes over 700 acres of land with a kilometer of shoreline. Founded in 1922, GBC has an established reputation of helping campers develop self-confidence and independence, as well as being a leader in environmental education. Each day is filled with opportunities to challenge campers of different ages and skill levels in a wide variety of activities.
One of the opportunities that campers really value is an adventure in one of Ontario’s provincial parks on a canoe, kayak or hiking trip. GBC trips vary in length from 3 to 12 days, led by experienced trippers who share their enthusiasm for being in the outdoors.
GBC is currently seeking trip leaders.
Qualifications required:
-minimum Bronze Cross and Standard First Aid certifications (NLS and/or Wilderness First Aid an asset)
-experience participating in and/or leading backcountry canoe, kayak or hiking trips
-enthusiasm for the outdoors with a solid knowledge of leave no trace camping skills
-camp experience and/or experience supervising children
-good problem solving and decision making skills
