Job Summary

We are looking for expert guides to join our team and help us run our line of hiking and camping adventure tours in the Rockies and Vancouver Island. This is a dream position for anyone looking to grow their career as an adventure guide. We require you to have an unrestricted class 4 or 2 driver’s license, 80 or 40 hour wilderness first aid, and ideally be an IGA professional interpreter, or ACMG hiking guide.

Working with us can be full time or flexible, depending on your desire and schedule. Tours depart from Calgary and Victoria, taking place in the Rockies and Vancouver Island. This job involves extended shifts away from home and paid travel. You must be OK working shifts up to 2 weeks.

  • Driving 15 passenger van and small trailer
  • Guiding day hikes with up to 12 guests for 1 guide
  • Cooking tour menu for group
  • Setting up campsite and helping guests to set their tents etc.
  • Inspecting van, connecting trailer, pre-trip checks, driver logs
  • Plan menu and buy groceries for tour, re-supply during tour
  • Interpret local history, geography etc to guests
  • Communicate with head office for smooth operation

Required Education, Skills and Qualifications

Class 4 unrestricted driver’s license (required)

Advanced Wilderness First Aid (required)

ACMG Hiking Guide (or part of) (preferred)

Will also accept IGA professional Interpreter certification (preferred)
