Experienced raft guides who want to work in a well-organized environment on a diversity of rivers. Between our two locations, we run six rivers; offering half-day, full-day, overnight and themed rafting programs. Wild Blue Yonder Rafting has been operating whitewater rafting trips and certifying guides in Grande Cache, Alberta since 1998, and in Revelstoke since 2016.
Applicants should strive for fun, genuine interactions with guests but value safety and professionalism at all times. We are a family-friendly company with strict policies on safe procedures and clean programming; our goal is to create extraordinary guest experiences.
Qualifications: Minimum 3 years experience. Guides must demonstrate 45 industry-standard skills and complete a minimum of 4 days of policy, river and scenario training. We prefer applicants with experience in stern-mount, oar-driven rafts, but training & certification can be provided.
– Swiftwater Rescue Level II, Wilderness First Aid (renewals available)
– BCROA or other recognized Guide Certificate (certification available)
DUTIES: While providing engaging and witty dialogue, you will direct and care for guests on class 2/3 and 3/4 rivers using 15’ rafts with a stern-mount oar rig. Supervise and mentor junior guides, and manage rescues should they occur. Additional duties: Shuttle driver, pre and post trip equipment set up, safety boating as required.
Other Information: You’ll join an international staff of guides, office staff and managers. Shared staff housing is provided. Complete work environment details are available to applicants. Work is at both our locations as required (transportation provided): Grande Cache, Alberta (June, July & August), Revelstoke, BC (July & August).
