Camp Warwa has been providing unforgettable outdoor experiences for youth since 1980. We are a non-profit outdoor education center located 45 minutes west of Edmonton Alberta and provide extensive year-round programs as well as summer camps. We are known for our experience, extensive programs and our inspiring professional community.
During the spring, our clients consist mainly of school groups, as well as youth groups, Girl Guide, and Scout groups. In the summer we run summer camps with each session running from Monday – Friday for campers 7 – 16 years old. Currently, Camp Warwa is looking for outgoing, self-motivated, and professionally minded individuals 18 years and older to work as Outdoor Education Instructors.
Our staff join our team because they want to help make a difference in the life of a child as well as to take on new challenges and grow as an outdoor professional. We are looking for people who appreciate children, are passionate about nature and want to live and work in a community environment. Together we’ll serve over 7500 children in 2019.
Outdoor Education Instructors will be responsible for attending camp provided training to learn how to facilitate a wide range of camp programs that include: archery, fire building, canoeing, climbing wall, group challenge, kayaking, orienteering, out-tripping, and more.
In the spring and fall seasons, Outdoor Education Instructors teach our programs and do not provide overnight supervision of campers. In the summer season, Outdoor Education Instructors work primarily as Counsellors. This role is a 24 hour a day job caring for and ensuring health and safety for a group of 8 campers with another Co-Counsellor.
In summer, Counsellors will lead an out-trip with their group. All age groups at Camp Warwa participate in out-trips. Counsellors will work with a variety of age groups throughout the summer season.
