Outdoor Education Fall Instructor

Contracts Start Date: September 4th 2018

Contract End Dates: October 15th 2018

Compensation: $250-$350/week



Camp Warwa has been providing unforgettable outdoor experiences for youth since 1980.  We are a non-profit outdoor education center located 45 minutes west of Edmonton Alberta and provide extensive year-round programs as well as summer camps.  We are known for our experience, extensive programs and our inspiring professional community.


Camp Warwa is a year-round facility that is dedicated to improving the lives of children through experiences in the outdoors.  During the fall season, our clients consist mainly of school groups, as well as youth groups, Girl Guide, and Scout groups.  Currently, Camp Warwa is looking for outgoing, self-motivated, and professionally minded individuals 18 years and older to work as Outdoor Education Instructors.


These positions are for people looking for full time seasonal employment. Outdoor Education Instructors will be responsible for attending camp provided training to learn how to facilitate a wide range of camp programs that include: archery, canoeing, climbing wall, group challenge, kayaking, orienteering, out-tripping, and more.


Other staff responsibilities include: attending meal times, facilitating at meal times, interacting with clients during free time, and facility upkeep. In the fall season, Outdoor Education Instructors teach our programs and do not provide overnight supervision of campers.


Job Requirements:

  • Standard First Aid and CPR-C
  • Criminal Reference Check and a Child Intervention Check
  • Willing to learn to lead recreational activities on the water, at heights, and in all types of weather conditions
  • 18 years of age or older



  • Child care experience
  • Residential camping and leadership experience
  • An understanding of community and team work
  • Problem solving skills and the ability to think critically
  • Certifications in: canoeing, kayaking, climbing ropes courses, and/or wilderness first aid
