Outward Bound Canada (OBC) has launched a recruitment process to identify a Program Director - Eastern Operations, to lead the development of a new program model for OBC’s programs in Eastern Canada (currently Ontario and New Brunswick) which includes both wilderness and urban based program delivery.

Reporting to the Executive Director, the Program Director – Eastern Operations, is both a functional and strategic, leadership position. Functionally this position will ensure that our traditional wilderness based programming continues to develop and thrive and that all of our programs in Eastern Canada, contract, funded and open enrolment, are designed, staffed and executed with the safety and quality standards consistent with the mission of OBC. At the same time, this position will assist in the development of new programming opportunities out of the Brick Works urban center in Toronto, Ontario. The Program Director – Eastern Operations will also play a key role on the Senior Management Team with regard to the long-term success of Outward Bound Canada.

The Program Director – Eastern Operations will have a thorough understanding of Outward Bound educational philosophy and methods, extensive facilitation experience working with organizations and teams, experience managing all aspects of a department, program or business in a similar environment,
and a track record of success as a leader in a complex environment where they’ve had
budget responsibility, a diverse staff, and a mandate to enhance the organization’s position in its marketplace.
