Residential Camp Leadership Intern - Night Staff

Canadventure Education is currently seeking a motivated Residential Camp Leadership Intern
for evening and night-time supervision. The role of the Intern is to assist with and deliver
quality evening programming as well as ensure the safety of participants between the hours of
5pm and 9am.
Basic duties include, but are not limited to:
· Adhering to, promoting, and enforcing CanAdventure Education’s Policies and Procedures, as
published in the Policies and Procedures Manual;
· Planning and leading evening activities within a pre-determined camp calendar;
· Providing strong and confident leadership in evening activities and nightly camp routines;
· Supervising the youth dormitory overnight and sleeping in the dormitory;
· Ensuring the safety of the participants overnight;
· Contributing to general base camp operations;
· Completing daily logs.
Required minimum training, certifications, and documentation include:
· Standard First Aid or equivalent course, including CPR-C,
· Clean criminal record check and driving record,
· Experience delivering outdoor and/or personal growth curriculum.
· Experience and/or skill managing behaviour among struggling teens.

Extra
Interns are welcome to participate in daily Senior Instructor led experiential education
programming at CanAdventure Education, a unique and internationally respected struggling
teens center. Alternatively, interns may explore the North Island during the day with their own
mode of transportation, or contribute to daily camp operations such as gardening, chopping
wood , etc...
Start Date: March 18th Minimum internship period 1 month
Maximum internship period 4 months
