2) Outdoor adventure (whitewater and wilderness) and therapeutic recreation to first nations people, youth at risk, adults with mental illness and to people with brain injuries
From May 1-Sept 4, 2010, all new staff, typically aged 21-30 (average 24), join Boundless as Interns. About half are newly graduated teachers, and the other half come from a wide range of backgrounds, especially camps and other programs that work with teenagers.
Interns receive four weeks of all-expense-paid training in May. This incorporates hard skills, especially in whitewater; and the acquisition of all-expense paid outdoor certifications. The training also focuses on the development of skills in teaching; facilitating; program development and in connecting with our clients and students. Further P.D. days in June and July makes the total training offered to be one third of the summer season.
Interns shall assist with all aspects or operations and program delivery.
Boundless covers all living expenses for interns throughout the summer when staff are on site (approximately three quarters of the summer). A stipend of $1500 -$5,000 is also provided, depending on the credentials of the applicant.
Deadline: January 31, 2010
