Manager, Regional Operations

Position Summary
Reporting to the Vice President Regional Operations, this position tracks and supports the regional conservation efforts across the country. This includes, but is not limited to ensuring the implementation of NCC’s conservation related Policies, Procedures, Standards and Guidelines (PPSGs), tracking of regional deliverables and review of key documents. The Manager, Regional Operations also plays a support role in strategizing project development in order to ensure strong conservation outcomes that are compatible with funding sources.
Position Requirements
• Degree in Sciences preferred (Biology, Environmental Studies or similar equivalencies),
• French and English language skills (written and oral) are a requirement.
• Sound knowledge of NCC’s core conservation business and regional operations, including conservation PPSGs and regional business plan processes.
• Sophisticated knowledge of Conservation Agreement management.
• Creative problem-solving skills; ability to make decisions, sound judgment and the ability to recommend solutions or alternatives when problems arise.
• Proven strong negotiation skills.
• Ability to foster effective relationships with internal staff.
• Comfort with data management and analysis, particularly in Excel.
• Ability to manage multiple and changing demands and priorities.
• Well-developed communication skills: written, verbal, listening.
• A strong commitment to the cause and mission of the Nature Conservancy of Canada
