Marketing Coordinator Job Description
The Riverwood Conservancy (TRC) is looking for a versatile Marketing Coordinator. The position is currently a 4 day-per-week one. Reporting to the Executive Director, the Marketing Coordinator (MC) plans, develops, coordinates and implements all matters related to marketing, marketing plans and communication strategies for core programs in environmental education, stewardship / conservation and gardening, and special events.
A leader on the Marketing Committee, the MC works with and mentors volunteers to assist to implement marketing initiatives. The MC coordinates marketing initiatives as needed with TRC partners, including the City of Mississauga, Credit Valley Conservation and Visual Arts Mississauga.
Responsibilities
· Design, coordinate and produce marketing and public communications for all programs and services, special events and fundraising events;
· Establish marketing plans for programs and services by coordinating with appropriate staff and committees and meet deadlines as needed;
· Mentor, guide and supervise volunteers to provide assistance;
· Coordinate content and manage all text and image content and updates for website using Joomla;
· Write media releases; coordinate production of newsletter Samara; write and distribute a monthly e- newsletter and seasonal Calendar of Events, with information from staff;
· Coordinate and manage social media pages including Facebook, twitter, other;
· Coordinate marketing initiatives for fundraising and work with development staff;
· Coordinate production of brochures, print materials and signage;
· Coordinate production of special event materials including the annual fundraiser, the Riverwood Garden Soiree
· Provide regular event information to the City of Mississauga and other outlets for electronic promotion;
· Participate on and provide leadership to the Marketing Committee;
· Participate on Special Events Committee;
· Increase awareness of Riverwood and TRC programs and services;
· Monitor the success of marketing initiatives; establish and evaluate ways to improve marketability and public awareness of programs;
· Assist to manage the image bank;
· Present marketing ideas to senior management;
· Establish plans to increase sales of Wildflowers of Riverwood and other products;
· Build awareness for the group photography program; liaise with the City of Mississauga Customer Service Office, as needed; and,
· Perform other duties as discussed and agreed upon.
Qualifications
· three to five years proven experience in marketing and communications;
· demonstrated computer skills, including working “hands-on” knowledge of Hootsuite and CMS (Joomla); Adobe Design Suite CS6 including Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and social media pages including Facebook, twitter;
· excellent verbal and written skills; excellent editing skills;
· demonstrated organizational and time management skills;
· ability to multi-task and meet overlapping deadlines in a fast-paced environment;
· experience working with volunteers is an asset;
· ability to work as part of a team and independently;
· a sense of humour;
· ability to make the most of limited budgets and experience working in the charitable sector is an asset.
The Riverwood Conservancy offers a competitive salary ranging from $40,000 to $42,500, a staff health plan and a beautiful working environment.
