Sustainability Researcher – Palawan, Philippines
Centre for Sustainability
The Centre for Sustainability is a non-profit organization working on sustainable development in Palawan, the Philippines. We are operating as social entrepreneurs and focus on contributing to the creation of a sustainable future for Palawan through the execution of projects that are practical, environmental friendly and long lasting. With our style of developing and implementing sustainable projects, we aim to serve as a blueprint for sustainable development in other areas of the Philippines.
The Internship
Through the student program, the Centre for Sustainability gives students from around the globe the opportunity to develop their skills, knowledge, and enthusiasm regarding sustainable development in their field of science. While working hard on their thesis or internship they are contributing to the creation of a sustainable future for Palawan. We achieve this by providing the students with the means for a thesis, internship or a voluntary position in one of the projects of our organization or other local organizations and government agencies.
We started this program to form a bridge between the theoretical knowledge of science in the western world with the vast traditional and cultural knowhow of the Filipino culture. Students work in paired teams, a local student, and an international student, thereby maximizing the transfer of knowledge and increasing the potential success of the joint project.
