Property Assistant
The Grand River Conservation Authority (GRCA) has an international reputation for excellence in managing the natural resources of the largest inland river system in southern Ontario. General Accountabilities
The Property Assistant reports to the Manager of Property and provides support on Property Department projects. Duties include data collection and tabulation of GRCA’s residential properties scanning and filing of historical documents and inputting information into a database. This position also provides assistance with document crafting, accounting document processing, scheduling and communication with both internal and external stakeholders. In addition this position provides support on customer service requests related to property and land management programs.
Specific Accountabilities
- Assist with the administration of the residential, agricultural and cottage lot programs, including the preparation of lease renewals, monthly accruals and reporting, information requests and property related correspondence.
- Assist staff with operational support in the day-to-day implementation of policies and procedures; assisting in the collecting of rents, service fees, resolving rental arrears and preparation of site development permits.
- Assist with the management of property files. This includes organizing and maintaining digital/paper files, templates, and property profile sheets.
- Respond to general inquires and provide excellent customer service.
- Other duties as assigned.
Technical Accountabilities
- Two years related work experience.
- Post- secondary education in property management, real-estate, Business or a related discipline.
- Knowledge of the Conservation Authorities Act, Planning Act, Building Code, Residential Tenancies Act, Commercial Tenancies Act and other legislation related to property matters.
- Strong data management and filing skills, with good organizational capacity.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast paced environment.
- Valid Ontario driver’s license.
The annual salary for this position is Job Level D $41,051 to $49,940 working 35 hours per week

Term of Employment: Approximately September 2016 to August 2017
